The Wall - A City Divided

Winds & Percussion by Craig Jordan

Battery Percussion by Edgar Sanchez

Difficulty: M

The Berlin Wall divided East and West Berlin from 1961 to 1989. The Wall was built by the German Democratic Republic of East Germany to prevent East German citizens from defecting to West Germany. In 1989, as the liberalization of other Eastern Bloc countries continued, the Soviet Government opened the wall to West Berlin and the wall was demolished, which led to the reunification of Germany in 1990. Duroing this time Berlin became a symbol of the Cold War. This show uses the music of Haydn, Wagner, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, and Beethoven along with famous quotes from President Kennedy and President Reagan.
